So I realize it's kind of lame that I put all this energy into these drawings that won't go anywhere, but what can I say? I enjoy making them, and it's the closest I'll ever get to sketch booking.

Anyway, I was actually working on this for valentines day, but I got caught up in other things, so I didn't get any ink on it till now. So, happy belated v-day!

This is what I turned in. It is kind of a weak painting as of now. I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with it still. Maybe I'll never finish it.

BUT! One super exciting thing about this painting that I forgot to mention before is that I made the panel myself. And when I say I made it, I mean I built the cradle...that you can't see in this photo. haha.

Color Matching

This is the monster structure... we drew it out, painted it...did our best to match the colors EXACTLY as they were seen. and then we had to make it, a not sucky painting. I like it okay. The pink and white thing in the front bothers me...I should go back and fix that.

So this is my final painting, inspired by the quote above and a song called "The Sun and the Moon" by Mae. Which if you know the song...maybe it doesn't seem like they go together all that well. I guess I've been thinking a lot about how we linger on the little things...but then again, sometimes the little things do become big things.

I've actually finished the painting, but I don't have a decent picture of it yet, and currently its waiting to be graded. It's actually not that different from this...it just has blue paint behind it now...

So we had to paint this thing...I'd try to explain it better, but it's kind of impossible. It was just difficult. But anyway, we had to do one realistic big one (which I'll post later), and then a few experimental type paintings. These would be the latter. Nothing super, but I just don't have much else to post yet. So here they are:

Waterfalls and bottles

- These are a couple pieces I've done for my painting classes. Both are in oil which is a new medium for me, but I think I'm getting the hang of it.

The VA Core Art Show

Okay, so I don't know if that's really what it's called... I have no idea what it's called. It's up in the HFAC right now. I got a couple pieces put in it and they are currently displayed on the fourth floor...
Sadly, my name was spelled wrong on one (lecia) , and credit was given to someone else entirely on another (a kid named drew from my drawing class).

But on the brighter side I won $33 for getting a jurors award. :D

So it wasn't a total bust, haha.

2D Final Project

- These are all on 24X36 masonite panels.

I love these. Unfortunately madame teacher didn't feel the same.

Rubbish indeed.

Yesterday I was pretty bitter about it...I bought ALL this junk food and ate SO much and felt SO sick.

But now I'm over it. :) "Keep Moving Forward"

Drawing Final Project

So I posted these in order from when I did them. The ones of Lori aren't finished because I've decided to start a third one of her - just not for the final which is tomorrow. The first two were more expiremental...I was just trying to figure out what worked and what didn't...so a lot of it is what didn't work.

These are small, I can't remember the demensions exactly, but there less than 11X15 for sure. Micron Pen and Ink on Stonehenge




Hannah's turned out to be the best in my opinion. Especially because it actually looks like her.


Emily's eyes are just weird. One is huge, one looks evil. Idk. but besides that I think it turned out alright.

As for my self portrait? Weird things were happening in this as well. the lips, the hair especially and everything under the chin. The pictures I used for reference were a bit difficult to work with seeing as half of the stuff I drew, you couldn't see in the photographs. Oh well...
